CHANEL BRAND LANDSCAPE 

SCAD PROJECT

INSPIRATION

In this project, I was tasked with building a branded 3D scene in Unity. I knew that I wanted to work with a brand that I could build a fanciful, yet classic scene for, so I instantly thought of Chanel.

Cinema 4D Assets

In my project, I wanted to celebrate Chanel’s brand history by highlighting three of their key products in the order that they were released. For the first scene in Chanel’s history, I wanted to include the iconic Chanel No. 5 bottles and packaging, along with strings of pearls, pearl decor animations, and floral accents. For the second scene, I wanted to create a set of Chanel’s classic black bags and travel cases in a style that would look like the they go on for infinity. These bags are accented with rotating, sparkling diamonds. For the final scene, I wanted to highlight the direction that Chanel is hoping to take their brand moving into the future with bold prints, their new packaging, and their makeup line.

UNITY BUILD PROCESS

Moving all of my models into Unity, I had to work to re-import textures and materials, with some of them translating differently than in Cinema 4D. Also, I had the chance to set lighting, cameras, and skyboxes to bring the scene to life. I knew that I wanted to include French classics for my background music, so I chose songs that fit the mood I was trying to convey with each scene. Finally, I played with flying and running character controller scripts, as well as gravity and grounding elements to be able to navigate the scene.
